Our Volunteer Vacation
Jim and Amy spent several days at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah in April 2010. Volunteering with the animals.
Their journey began in Las Vegas, Nevada. From Las Vegas they drove through Mt Zion National Park . What a trip Nevada, Arizona and Utah. Beautiful site seeing.
When they arrived at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary they received a tour of the sanctuary and saw all the animal housing areas. Along with the dog training facility, Veterinary Hospital and remarkable scenery of the area. The next day they were scheduled for their volunteer work. First things first. Orientation with the volunteer staff to explain the rules and regulations and to get our work assignments and to meet their fellow volunteers for the shift assignments.
Amy worked in Dog Town with the Senior Dogs. Jim worked in Cat World with many, many cats.
We had a great time and would recommend the experience to anyone who is up for a wonderful time.
We met volunteers from all over the country and all of us had the same goal, helping the animals. What a wonderful sanctuary.
